Day 34- MY FIRST DAY TEACHING!!!

Today I started actually teaching for the FIRST time in an Arabic country! I mean, doing workshops isn’t the same as teaching a full-blown course, so this is an experience in its own. I wasn’t nervous, but I was a little worried as to how the students will take my style of teaching. Since my English is much stronger than my Arabic, and I had to teach in Arabic, I was worried about that. But after I started talking, all my Arabic started to come back to me. The other reason why I was worried was because they are all post-undergrad, but not in grad school yet. So they are older and more mature.

I had a Power Point presentation ready for them and an exercise to do today. All in all, I think it went pretty good, even though I finish early and the girls ended up leaving 30 minutes before time.

We are still busy-busy with conference preparation! I’m really excited for it to come and at the same time, can’t wait until it’s over!
