After a long day at work, I decided to cook myself a nice meal instead of the usual fast sandwiches or quick meals. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to cook, but I knew I wanted some potatoes with it, especially since I haven’t had any in a very long time. I peeled the potatoes, and just as I started to cut them into small pieces, I ran the knife right on my thumb! I screamed for my husband really loud as I held my thumb to slow down the blood flow. I tried not to look at my thumb or at the blood cause I knew that I would get dizzy and even faint if I saw the blood. My husband came running from the other room as soon as he heard me screaming for help. He quickly took me towards the sink to rinse it out, but just as I was telling him, “Honey, I feel dizzy”, everything was spinning around and I passed out, smack to the ground!
I was gone for a few seconds, and opened my eyes to see my husband’s very concerned face. He started spraying water on my face and telling me that I was ok. I was kind of getting annoyed cause he sprayed too much water on me and I could feel my whole shirt getting wet. I didn’t tell him that, cause I knew he had good intentions ;) He then washed my thumb, cleansed it with alcohol, and put a couple band-aids. My honey came to my rescue!
He helped me up and took me to the bed, where I laid down, and since I was tired from work, I decided to just go ahead and take a nap, after changing my wet shirt of course!
I guess I slept for about an hour. I woke up and wasn’t feeling hungry anymore. Instead, I felt like making Saudi coffee with some chocolate. I had Bassam go get me some Twix and some Kinder Chocolates and I made my version of Saudi coffee, which I still have to perfect. I spent the rest of the night working on work-related things on the laptop while drinking coffee and eating chocolate.
All that chocolate made me full, so I’m going to skip dinner and just call it a night.
Oh, I almost forgot, I also opened my bank account today!!! Now, that’s an accomplishment I’m proud of since it took forever in terms of the paperwork to finally get to this step of opening a bank account. Ironically, the actual process of opening the bank account took all together a total of 15 minutes!
Good night.
Much Love, HKA in KSA
