Day 22- On a Mission

Thursday October 8th, 2009

We decided to sleep in today so we didn’t really get up until after 10 am (yes that is sleeping in!) We had our breakfast and after Dhuher prayer, we went to Hyper Panada to get some groceries. Afterwards, I went over to Talal and Kristi’s to hang out with her and baby Karoomi and to wash some clothes. Bassam ended up coming over there too. Talal had to work overtime today in preparation for the BIG conference we are doing. He came home, and just before he could eat, his boss called and told him to come back to work! So he went back and we went home.
I called the States and I talked to my dad and he told me that my mom is finally home from the hospital! Al7emdalla! I didn’t talk to her cause she was sleeping, so I told him that I would call tomorrow inshAllah. I really hope she recovers from her surgery fast and comes to visit us here!

After Maghreb prayer, Bassam and I decided to go out for a little bit. We went to the old, traditional shops (it looks like a big bazaar). It’s kind of old looking, but it’s neat at the same time, as it has a lot of things you wouldn’t find in malls and modern shops. We scrolled up and down the shops, didn’t find anything I particularly needed. However, we did stop by the spice shop, but I didn’t buy anything since I don’t know much about spices. Kristi and Hana promised to go with me next time so they can help me with the spices as they are experts in that field.

We then went to a furniture store looking to see if we can find a nice, dining room table for six. The thing is, I want a white table with white chairs, and I’m having a hard time finding one that I like. We are also looking for a nice chair for our computer table, so we went to a office furniture store and to Saco World (which is like a big Home Depot/Sam’s Club) and in both places we didn’t find anything we like. So we are still on these two missions of trying to find a dining room table and an office chair for our computer table.

It’s almost 11 pm now; I guess we will call it a night and go to bed. Good night.

Much Love, HKA in KSA
