Day 29- Internet… Where art thou?

Today was a crazy, hectic day! I still don’t have internet at home and I have TONS of work to finish for work. So I decided to go to my friends house to get some work done. I called her and she said to come any time. By 11 am, I was at their door ready to start working. After having some coffee and chit-chatting a bit, it was time to get serious! I went to her bedroom to get some privacy and some quiet time so I can finish my work. I turned on my computer and tried to get online, and to my astonishment, I COULDN’T GET ONLINE!!!! The crazy thing is, they were all online on their phones and their computers, so I thought, maybe it was my computer? But I didn’t do anything different to my laptop and just yesterday it was working just fine at work.

So I decided that there was something wrong with their internet. At that point, I called my husband and told him that he has to find internet for me at the house. After he picked me up, we went to Mobily, one of the biggest cell phone/internet companies in Saudi Arabia. So, I knew they would have something for us. I was so happy when they told us they have the new wireless broadband internet, and even though it is way over-priced, and I wouldn’t get any other day, we ended up getting it.

So we go home and I try installing it, which took about an hour of my time, and to my horror, my laptop still does not have internet! So, I concluded that something was wrong with my laptop! (seriously, when one thing does wrong, everything decides to go wrong!). So I managed to hook up Bassam’s laptop to the wireless internet and used it to finish my work.

Of course, by the time all of this happened, it was already passed 7pm and I still have tons and tons of work to do! It’s 8:30 pm now and I decided to write my entry for today now before it gets too late and I forget. I can tell this is going to be a loooooooong night!
