Day 10- First Day of Work

Saturday September 26th, 2009

Today I woke up at 6:30 am ready to start my day and go to work! I was pretty excited to go and was eager to see everyone. My husband dropped me off at the gate and I walked to the Entrepreneurship Center. I was surprised to not find anyone there but the janitors cleaning and mopping. I waited for about 5 minutes then I sent a message to one of my co-workers. She called me telling me that they moved us to another place. Well, I didn’t get the memo! (That’s for you Toota!). I went to the new place and met my other co-workers. My boss wasn’t there, as she still on vacation and won’t be back until Monday.

I sat at my desk and turned on my pc, and I realized that it was really slow. I thought it might have a virus but I wasn’t sure. So I called one of the IT girls and she came to check it out only to confirm it did have a virus. The poor girl spent the whole rest of the day working on it! So I pretty much used my other co-workers computers to check emails and what not. We then had a small meeting and before I knew it, it was time to go home.

I got home and decided to cook some chicken in the oven. That would be my first time doing so in Saudia. I was a bit nervous turning on the oven for some reason, so I had Bassam do it. I made squid and some meat & rice for Bassam and I put my chicken in the oven and decided to take a nap. All of a sudden, in the middle of my nap, I woke to the smell of something burning! Bassam was at the mosque for Aser prayer, so he wasn’t here to smell anything. I ran to the kitchen thinking it was Bassam’s food that was burning, but it was my chicken! I took it out and was relieved to find that only a little bit from the bottom was burnt, but still edible!

Anyway... I'm getting really tired. Good night and sweet dreams.

Much Love, HKA in KSA
